99 EMS Turbo Combi 1978 - black
As it arrived on our doorstep ..
Price as it is without MOT: £400
Just driven through town – great car. Drives superb, very fast, fantastic! Engine, gearbox, electrics – all there: bumpers, mirrors, inca alloys, interior.
Now the downside: rust and restoration.
The body: the underneath is surprisingly good. Small hole in centre of one jacking point and work needed on underside of both front wings. Passengers door rotten at the bottom. N/s/f wing needs welding and top and around the arch. Needs new panel below front windscreen …. gone beyond any sensible repair. We have one from a donor car. There’s an annoying, rusty breech on the roof to the rear on n/s hatch hinge area c. 3’’ by 3’’.
Despite the above, there’s no rust worth mentioning on the bonnet, rear quarter panels, pillars, hatch and the o/s door is reasonable.
The exhaust system is symphonic!
Costs: if you brought this excellent 99 turbo in to me and wanted it MOT’d and made fully roadworthy, I’d charge £700.
