Saab 95 V4's
my new restoration projects they will live!=>
It was a drizzly day in February when we got a call that two 95 V4's from 1976 had been stolen and recovered and were in a bad state. A blue and green one. They were vandalised and rusty after sitting in a field for 20 years; they were in bad nick.
The green one has nearly broken in half. There is a hole 10cm approx right across the whole bulkhead which is very bad. The blue one has got damage on the bonnet and roof where the green one was put on top. Their interiors are in mint condition today 11th February 2009 the blue one fired up for the first time in 20 years. The head gasket has gone.
The Saab 95 V4 is one of my favourite models because they have got so much character and the cars come in so many different colours inside and out - blue, green, red, orange, white, you name it! These cars will be a lot of work to fix but I have decided to take them on and try and save them because they're old cars and too many of them have been scrapped recently.
I also have a 1968 model. It's white with red interior. It's not very well at the moment. We have most of the parts to save all three cars but welding is the main problem as when we started the green one up and reversed, the front of the car was waving at us because there is such a big hole underneath!
I hope that the cars will be OK. I will try as hard as I can to keep them on the road. I will write more about how they're getting on. Bye for now.
